  • It was the most important city square until the 1861 earthquake damaged many buildings in the city, by which moved the center of the city in the vicinity of the Plaza Independencia. Where today is the founding Museum knew placed the old Cabildo, then destroyed by the earthquake. Then he learned to operate a slaughterhouse and later a municipal fair.
