  • you have to wait to open after the NAP, as a 5 or 6 in the afternoon to appreciate Cathedral which is more beautiful on the inside to outside and that encloses some treasures of historic interest, such as the whip that San Martín offered him to the Virgin and the remains of Mary Jane, the daughter of the general

  • It was built in 1875. Houses the image of the Virgen del Carmen, patron and General of the army of the Andes, and the baton of the General José of San Martín, reason why this image was replicated in the votive Temple of Maipú in Chile, in the place where is achieving the victory of the army. In its interior is located the mausoleum where the remains of Mercedes Tomasa San Martín y Escalada, your spouse, severe Mariano Balcarce and one of his daughters, María Mercedes Balcarce and San Martin.

Where to stay in Mendoza

As the center of Argentina's wine industry, Mendoza offers plenty of conventional hostel and hotel options, as well as a good selection of short-term apartments for rent. Visitors taking language courses or spending several weeks on the wine route usually snatch these early in the tourist season (which lasts from mid-December to late-February), so it's a good idea to do some research and contact the owners before you arrive. Keep in mind that some of the town's hostels only offer beds to guests signed up for their wine tours.
