Where to stay in Mendoza

As the center of Argentina's wine industry, Mendoza offers plenty of conventional hostel and hotel options, as well as a good selection of short-term apartments for rent. Visitors taking language courses or spending several weeks on the wine route usually snatch these early in the tourist season (which lasts from mid-December to late-February), so it's a good idea to do some research and contact the owners before you arrive. Keep in mind that some of the town's hostels only offer beds to guests signed up for their wine tours.

  • This church has some attractive stained glass and colonial religious statuary but nothing extraordinary. A service was in progress when we went, so we stayed for mass. The priest must never have heard...  more »
  • It is really very simple to be Cathedral, Mendoza is seismic zone and no ancient buildings, hence this church has typical features of the "Cathedral". If you expect to see a large church, this isn't the place. Like this very well preserved, only a not very wide central body, with side galleries with little ornamentation. Very few altars and small dome. The main altar is also quite simple. The Gallery columns look like marble, well done detail.

  • It is a small but lovely Church itself inside with various statues (even one of Santiago Apostle Pilgrim).

  • Beautiful Cathedral of Mendoza. It is worth visiting their images and altars historical. It is the only Church of Mendoza following the order of Pope San Juan Pablo II: medium at 11.30 Sunday is celebrated the Tridentine Mass, with bilingual booklets, organ and choir of luxury. From Tuesday to Friday to the 15: 30 mass at the divine mercy, before the Crown is prayed.
