3.9/5 based on 420+ reviews on the web
For a piece of history visit Museo Fundacional, dedicated to preserving the ruins of Mendoza's first government building, a colonial-era town council. Destroyed by an earthquake in 1861, the remains of the building are preserved in a chamber in the museum. View objects from colonial times, photographs, models, and dioramas that tell the history of the city. The museum also houses exhibits of local artists' paintings and sculptures, as well as interesting old weapons, maps, and other objects. • Museo that contains the historical record of the city, with a lot of stuff to see and read. It takes a little patience.

  • The square itself is not a very beautiful site, but foundational area Museum contains the entire history of Mendoza. It is very cheap (about the $15), but I really recommend going during the guided tours, which usually even end with a wine tasting at a nearby wine bar. Recommended for tourists and Mendoza

  • This was the place of the original City hall, then a slaughter house, a market and now finally a museum. You can see the old foundation for the original building. It has some pre-colombian artifacts. It is all in spanish but you can understand most of whats going on. Regular price is $30, students pay $14

  • This closed by reforms, would be good to let the tourists, from tourism to groups that take you to travel around the city and have it included in the city tour. The goodwill of those who attended us made us take only a little of it.
