Feel the national pride inspired by Memorial de la Bandera, a memorial complex in the heart of Mendoza. Walk through the open air plaza, admiring a sculpture of an angel by a local artist, a water fountain, and ornamental light fixtures. The main artifact held here is an original flag carried by the Army of the Andes during the nationalist battle to free the region from colonial control. Watched over by a guard, the flag represents the central part of this reverential, and somber, tribute to the battles won and the lives lost in the country's quest for freedom.
