Fuente de los Continentes, Mendoza

4.4
Stop by San Martin park and admire Fuente de los Continentes, a large fountain made of cast iron, that adorns the park. Obtained by the Argentinian government in the early 20th century, the fountain represents the four continents at the time (before Oceania and Antarctica were classified as such). Rest on a bench and enjoy the sounds of the fountain, designed in 1874 by French sculptor Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux. • Source that's just gone through a major reform and throughout your surroundings. This part of the park that just spend for improvements. Safe, clean and organized.

  • I think that the best of the Park, at least when I was still was not in remodeling. And indeed it is a fairly large source, which is not reached to admire in a photo.

  • Few people know the story behind these Continental Sources, but made an effort to register a picture of my visit, the source was off because the Park was under construction.

  • Located in the San Martin Park roundabout. It is worth entering the Park, beautiful place to perform any activity or sit and enjoy the air and the green surrounding.

Where to stay in Mendoza

As the center of Argentina's wine industry, Mendoza offers plenty of conventional hostel and hotel options, as well as a good selection of short-term apartments for rent. Visitors taking language courses or spending several weeks on the wine route usually snatch these early in the tourist season (which lasts from mid-December to late-February), so it's a good idea to do some research and contact the owners before you arrive. Keep in mind that some of the town's hostels only offer beds to guests signed up for their wine tours.
