Pozo de las Animas, Malargue
(4/5 based on 130+ reviews on the web)
Find yourself peering into the the deep blue "eyes" of the natural phenomenon of Pozo de las Animas. Twin sinkholes sitting side by side create the illusion of sunken eyes in the earth. Caused by collapsed underground voids, the site is the result of the dissolution of gypsum deposits. A small, light-blue lake of mirrored fresh water gathers at the base of each of the sinkholes, which are both a deep blue-green color from the mineral composition. The sinkholes are located just off the highway, so you can stop to snap a quick photo and take in the surrounding mountain scenery. • You can not stop approaching this geological formation of the land carsticos, on the way to Las Lenas, since the road is very close access, you park and you can see wells

  • The truth is something to take a picture and stay a few minutes admiring the place, no more than that. The environment and the well water is very cute. If you go to Malargue, it is worth going. It is something different to other excursions. It is on the way to las Leñas.
