Mr. Hugo Wineries and Bikes, Maipu

Winery / Vineyard
Create your customized bike route through Mendoza's most prized land--the vineyards of Maipú--at Mr. Hugo Wineries and Bikes. Mr. Hugo and his family provide a distinctive way to visit not only family-run wineries, but also chocolate factories, an olive oil factory, a wine museum, and the commercial Trapiche winery (twice voted the best in Argentina). To make the most of your time, head straight to the wine country through quiet, picturesque avenues lined with olive trees, since the wine tasting stops in town have longer open hours. Several wine cellars open their doors to visitors and allow an inside look into the winemaking process. Drop in at one of the many restaurants along the way for a delicious meal. When you return the bikes, rest with a glass of homemade wine in the Hugo family's spacious garden. Mr. Hugo Wineries and Bikes is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our online itinerary creator, Maipu Edition.

  • If you stay in Mendoza, be sure to do the bike ride through the vineyards. The ride is spectacular and enchanting. Sir Hugo is a very nice person, caring and helpful. The bikes have good quality. He gave us a map that's Guide to wineries. On the way back, my bike tire punctured. I called him and promptly told me and some wineries there was trading post. By luck that I was there. During almost all the way the road is flat. Choose the wineries to find more interesting because you can't visit them all. And get there early to rent the bikes. In this way the Sun is less hot, the road has less movement and you visit more places. In some parts of the route there are plenty of trees, but in others it's pretty open. Besides in some parts the road be more narrow and we have to be more careful with the traffic. If you are not accustomed to distances and bike, don't go too far. Because the Sun gets hot, you end up drinking a few glasses of wine and back is harder.
