Bodegas Cavas de Don Arturo, Maipu
(4/5 based on 170+ reviews on the web)
At Bodegas Cavas de Don Arturo, learn how the French-Belgian immigrants brought their traditions of winemaking from the old continent to the valley of Lunlunta. Breathe in the fragrances and admire the water coming down from the Andes, the rich soil, the vineyards, and the lush gardens planted with oak trees, pines, magnolias, pomegranates, and roses. Start your tour at the winery built in 1926 in the style of a luxurious French villa, and move on to the museum to see large oak casks, traditional tools, and machinery. Finish your tour by sampling four different red wines back at the villa. Amenities include a wine shop. Bodegas Cavas de Don Arturo is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our custom trip planner, Maipu Edition.

  • Despite being a very small family winery, the quality of its wine is undeniable, are exclusively and organic Red wines, and prices are cheaper than the wines sold in stores in Buenos Aires. I bought 4 wines and paid 480 pesos, equivalent to some 30 reias (each) and with unmatched quality.

  • Pleasant visit cellars where explained the entire process of elaboration of the wines and gave us the opportunity to try them.

  • Like many, I met the Cava via tourist agency, part of a tour that visits a modern wine cellar and a traditional. No volume came only occasionally so I thanked him that the visit was not very long. The people serving and owners who are turning out there were very kind and it - which does not differ too much from other visits to establishments that also sold to the public--certainly intends to offer their products. The stories are interesting and the proposal of the tour inevitably ends with a pass by sale room. I would recommend it only as an option to kill time.
