Winery / Vineyard
Wine enthusiasts will find plenty to appreciate at Bodega Familia Di Tommaso, an artisanal winery built by iconic architect Lopez Frugoni in 1869. A tour of this quaint and charming bodega walks you through the winemaking process using modern machinery, and also fills you in on the history of the vineyard. The winery originally sourced all materials from Europe, bricks from England, machinery from France and Italy, and cement from Germany; many of these are now on display at the onsite museum. The owners conduct tasting tours in both Spanish and English. Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Bodega Familia Di Tommaso by using our Maipu vacation builder.

  • When we arrived at the winery tour was just about to start and we could join immediately. Our tour guide was very friendly and open and the tour (in Spanish and English) was very interesting and all our questions were answered. The tasting of three wines was celebrated nicely, with lots of explanations and tips. We defintely recommend visiting this friendly, family-run Winery when you are in Maipú!

  • This winery features a portion of the history of wine making in Mendoza. The original building 150 years old, has-been embellished and recycled in a very clever way. The guides are very nice, helpful and speak perfect English, apart from teaching you the basics to start trying wines. Must bring camera and walking shoes, you may rent a bike and ride the route! The restaurant is very nice, also constructed from recycling, The food is very good. You can make the whole visit in half a day, and you will get... A real taste of Mendoza!
