#12 of 20 in Wineries in Maipu
Wine enthusiasts will find plenty to appreciate at Bodega Familia Di Tommaso, an artisanal winery built by iconic architect Lopez Frugoni in 1869. A tour of this quaint and charming bodega walks you through the winemaking process using modern machinery, and also fills you in on the history of the vineyard. The winery originally sourced all materials from Europe, bricks from England, machinery from France and Italy, and cement from Germany; many of these are now on display at the onsite museum. • This happened to be our first winery, and we were not disappointed. The young woman hosting the tasting was friendly, personable, and really knowledgeable, and her English was excellent. The tasting r...  more »

  • We are welcomed to visit a young girl who introduces us to the name and the origins of the family. Fastest lap in the winery and tasting rushed of 3 wines from their proposed. 30-40 ARS 3 wines tasting, visit 50-70 (white, black, young and black barricaded). Do we then have a Word with the lady who tells us his story. Very interesting, shame about the tasting.

  • Great lunch deal, the wine was also good. Family run business, with good service. I recommend the spaghetti! I didn't try the wine tasting but the room where it takes place is rustic and well organized. The only issue is that they do not take credit card, so come with a lot of cash in your pocket!
  • What a beautiful vineyard. We ate at the restaurant called La Chiase. Then we visited the beautiful wine cellar with these numbers dusty bottles! Nice welcome and very kind staff. I am very happy to have been able to come.
  • Nice tour offered in Spanish or English, accompanied by a tasting all for ARS$75. Small outdoor patio if you wish to purchase food or drink.
  • Loved their wines. One of the oldest wineries in the Mendoza area dating back to the 1860s. Got to walk around their vineyards and older production facility during the tour. The tasting consisted of 3 wines. Our guide took a lot of time to explain the wine and the differences as we went through. They only accept cash if you're doing just the tour and tasting, but if you buy more than that they'll take credit cards.
  • Nice little area out front door eating a small meal from the restaurant. Great wine. Should have gotten a box
