Bodega Familia Di Tommaso, Maipu
Categories: Wineries & Vineyards, Food & Drink
Wine enthusiasts will find plenty to appreciate at Bodega Familia Di Tommaso, an artisanal winery built by iconic architect Lopez Frugoni in 1869. A tour of this quaint and charming bodega walks you through the winemaking process using modern machinery, and also fills you in on the history of the vineyard. The winery originally sourced all materials from Europe, bricks from England, machinery from France and Italy, and cement from Germany; many of these are now on display at the onsite museum. The owners conduct tasting tours in both Spanish and English. Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Bodega Familia Di Tommaso by using our Maipu vacation builder.

Mariano SchmidtOn one of our trips to Mendoza, we went to the cellar, which we love. On that occasion we buy souvenirs and also wines. One of the wines that we acquire, we kept it for a very special occasion, and that day came today, Grande was the disappointment when we uncovered the bottle and saw that the Cork of it degranaba, it wasn't a cork for a wine of guard, was a cork reconstituted common, as the common wine. We had many expectations with this wine, because keep it many years along with other well-known wine. The next thing that happened, was a wine very acid and ajerezado, that we could not take it. It was a special varietal, Malbec 2004, vintage bottle 193 without label and writing with corrector white and signed by the winemaker. It was a pity, as we ruined the celebration and we think that a mistake like that than Cork, in a special crop and recommended by the winemaker and the price we pay what is not acceptable, not deserved that should this happen. Best regards. Jorge.show original
