Antigua Bodega Giol, Maipu

(4.3/5 based on 110+ reviews on the web)
Discover the production processes and sample the wares at Antigua Bodega Giol, once recognized as the world’s largest winery. The intriguing bodega has a rich history, with founders Juan Giol and Bautista Gargantini partnering up in 1887 to open the winery’s doors officially in 1898, more than 10 years later. Take a tour to understand the history of the vineyard and hear some interesting tales, such why the logo emblazoned on all wines and all over the factory is that of a bull. Tours culminate, of course, in the customary tasting sessions that experienced wine tourists will be more than familiar with. For Antigua Bodega Giol and beyond, use our Maipu family vacation planner to get the most from your Maipu vacation.

  • It is fascinating to visit this Winery that is no longer in activity. There is still the aroma of wine in oak barrels. There is a tasting of wines optional to the end of the visit

  • We didn't do the tour, but the bodega didn't like and they don't take card. Also there is no warning for that information.

  • A very nice site where is told the origin of the wine by Giol and today in day a cooperative. The very complete and friendly Narrator throughout the tour, tasting must pay to $60 per person and tested a variety of wines very palatable and the price of the wines is reasonable

  • beautiful place, is the only Winery that has a barrel considered heritage of Mendoza, the story is interesting and very well explained, the wine shop this well stocked there for everyone, I recommend it because it is old, unique in its content, still smells of wine inside...
