ZOO Lujan, Lujan

#1 of 17 in Things to do in Lujan
Pundits remain strongly divided about ZOO Lujan, often referred to as the "extreme petting zoo" or the "world's most dangerous zoo." Fans rave about the experience of getting up close to, and even touching, some of the world's most dangerous and majestic predators, especially lions and tigers. Animal rights activists slam the attraction, accusing staff of drugging the animals to make them more placid during their interactions with visitors. If you do decide to visit, take extreme care and remember to treat the animals with respect. To visit ZOO Lujan and other attractions in Lujan, use our Lujan online trip maker .

  • I searched several recommendations and indication of the Mariano Bermudez (+ 54 9 11 2448-5893). As we were headed to Buenos Aires, coming from Cologne (Uruguay), dealt with it all by ZAP, of Brazil. I took I asked him to pick me up and take me to the Hotel. The ride with the Mariano actually has a huge differential. We got to the zoo around 9:20 h, just as the zzo opens. Was empty. Going with the Mariano you don't have to worry about anything, not even box office queue and, better, the treatment that the caretakers of animals give when you arrive in cages is infinitely better than to dismiss the other visitors. It's like I'm with a VIP bracelet. Worth every penny. We did the tour with all possible tranquility, photographed and filmed at will, within the cages, met several species of animals from close, a unique experience. The janitors still pick your phone and take the photos for you! The zoo is very cool, and has a place for snacks, both for those who take your lunch as for who wants to eat there. I had a sausage sandwich with bread and delicious sauce (I think it was called CHORIPAN). Before 2:00 pm we had finished all the ride. Super recommend the tour and transportation with Mariano, both to the Zoo and other points of interest. It's a very responsible person and extremely reliable. Still took me to the airport on the way back.

  • This place should be closed! First to start the inning goes fast, about 400 pesos Argentinos, the place in total, ugly mistake to view by where you look at... The poor animals of a 4 or 5 lion cages, super girls, very sad really... Not be as it still works, were believing it to be another thing, very sorry.

  • It has animals such as Tigers, Lions, Cougars, camels, elephants, monkeys and bears, among many others. Highlights the variety of birds, among which are, for example, the macaws. Visitors can interact with the animals, and it is even feasible, to enter the cage of different animals, including lions and pumas. There are guides to accompany visitors on different habitats of the animals. Timetables: every day of the week from 9.00 hours. The Zoo has an important area for recreation, games and areas for picnic tables and grills.

  • I liked the place and the contacts with the animals... I thnink some of the places should be improved
  • Absolutely amazing zoo, one of the only zoos in the world that lets you enter the cages! Genuine pics... They have a huge collection of both South American and African animals, and you can get closer than anywhere else.
  • I would give this so called 'zoo' less than a star if I could. Please avoid it. The animals are drugged every single day for hours so that tourists can take selfies with them. It's absolutely horrible. Don't contribute to their suffering please.Let's close this awful place down!
  • All of you misguided souls need to understand why they let yall in the cages with the animal. BECAUSE THE DRUG THE HELL OUT OF THEM!!!! I guess yall are either extremely naive or just plain dumb to think that is how these wild animals should be treated. I am seriously scratching my head at everyone who put more than one star for this HELL HOLE!!!! Total ignorance...F the people that run this sad place.
  • Animals look healthy and active. Had a great visit!
