Pundits remain strongly divided about ZOO Lujan, often referred to as the "extreme petting zoo" or the "world's most dangerous zoo." Fans rave about the experience of getting up close to, and even touching, some of the world's most dangerous and majestic predators, especially lions and tigers. Animal rights activists slam the attraction, accusing staff of drugging the animals to make them more placid during their interactions with visitors. If you do decide to visit, take extreme care and remember to treat the animals with respect. To visit ZOO Lujan and other attractions in Lujan, use our Lujan online trip maker .

  • I believe that was formerly a Zoo better watch out, the entry for tourists is 800 pesos (About 80 reais per person), a very expensive price to pay to view the concerned about the site itself. I thought I'd abandoned, hardly saw a worker there to give some information, some animals are treated well (due proportions, because the carrots available to give the goats were practically dirt), I saw that care only with the chicks, Lions and Tigers, when I was searching for the elephant I came across two Llamas on the way and one of them was dying, with the whole leg bruised, full of bugs! I thought it was absurd to have no caregiver to see that animal and still leave it in that position in the middle of the Park (I'll put the photos the llama dying)! I wanted to know the Park to have the opportunity to play in wild animals, but I don't know if the trip is worthwhile, think before you go, dear, unkempt and abandoned.

  • The Zoo is different to those I've visited, has no pavement and when it rains it gets with a lot of mud. The animals seemed well treated and well fed. The queue to enter the cage is big and you have to be patient. The handlers are usually friendly, however those who were in the cage of the Tigers were quite rude and not let us take the pictures, they took and how they didn't use my camera (and they wouldn't even let me configure anything) were all horrible. The visit to the bears is charged to part because visitors feed the bears, but we feed them for a little hole through glass.

  • Attentive staff, beautiful animals. The experiment of feeding a lioness, get into the lion's cage or play with the children of Tiger is unique!

  • I love this place. Entering the lion's cage or tiger's cage is an awesome experience. I do agree that it's cruel to drug the animals but the keepers are very kind and gentle to the animals. The place it self is quite run down but that can be improved. Awesome place for a Saturday BBQ :)
  • Animals are drugged and mistreated. The "zoo" should be closed for good. I'd give the place a negative start but that's not an option here. There are groups on Facebook where people, like me, are trying to have this circus closed. What they are doing is illegal, animals have rights. I'm from Argentina and I always hated this place
  • The single worst place I’ve ever visited. Not only very expensive, is dirty, poorly organised and understaffed. The animals are beaten and clearly drugged. Not coming back!
  • It was an ok experience. We could tell animals were mistreated to behave the way they did. No wild animal can be tamed to behave that way when facing so many strangers. It's clear they drug them. No need to be an expert to tell that. Really sad... Animals like elephants are beaten to obey. Is that really worth it? Don't fool yourself thinking they are tamed. They are drugged, very drugged. The zoo maintenance was awful. It looked like they lacked employees and obviously couldn't keep up with what they needed to provide at least a subpar service. You can go to any regular zoo and have a great experience.
  • Do not support this place. They drug the animals everyday it’s very sad. ALSO, they charge DOUBLE price for visitors who are not from Argentina. Imagine if a zoo in the United States did that, or anywhere in the world for that matter. It is ridiculous to charge visitors from other countries a separate price. $600 pesos for a little zoo with random cages and junk everywhere! That price is more expensive than the zoo in New York City. Very bad organization.
