  • Advance. Let the fingers of these idiotic tours which are offered you in the hotel, if you're really interested in wine-making. The Bodega Tierras Altas is located in the Green, very authentic and really cute. We were greeted in the Bodega Altas by Freddy animal wheel, we have divided the tour for us with 3 rumor and believes all 1:1 in the English and the Spanish translated me Freddy. I understand Spanish. With a glass of Rosé, we are walking to the vines and we were able to find out yourself the differences with his help. An interaction. Then we followed the wine way. We have the first two stages of fermentation from the tank tried and then direct from the oak barrels. Then the last step from the bottle. Two reserve one in 2005 and the other, younger from 2013. To do so, Freddy has tells us the storage. You can feel that the winemaker is here with heart and soul here and like communicated us his knowledge of wine. We ate there for lunch and it was delicious. We felt very welcome and comfortable. Were about 6 hours on the estate and it was a perfect day. I recommend it to every wine lover from the heart, it will be really difficult to beat because it's perfect. Thanks Freddy, I know you would not understand my writing, but I am sure your Bodega wants to do his way.

  • Today we went on a tour to this Winery, saw that here in TripAdvisor all give 10 out of 10. And I must say they really do deserve. Our Guide was Fredy a descendant of the family that owns the vineyard, since Caesar, everyone's talking about. He explained everything about wine, how do you recognize the vineyards and the different types of grapes. From afar it looks all green and then when one makes you notice the difference then you already seems to be a bit more wise guy. In fact, Fredy says we're there to learn and understand. And he's with heart and soul to explain it all. After the tour you can eat in the restaurant, and the menu and fabulous. It was a wonderful experience that I can only recommend to the Max. From Mendoza by taxi it takes 20 minutes and costs about €10. do not book the Tour that I propose in the hotel because they are Chinese tour. 2-3 Pronto wine without great explanation, try wines and then you have to buy. Yesterday it happened one disaster after another, which today has paid off 1000 times to civilities and explanations here at Bodega Tierra Altas.

Where to stay in Mendoza

As the center of Argentina's wine industry, Mendoza offers plenty of conventional hostel and hotel options, as well as a good selection of short-term apartments for rent. Visitors taking language courses or spending several weeks on the wine route usually snatch these early in the tourist season (which lasts from mid-December to late-February), so it's a good idea to do some research and contact the owners before you arrive. Keep in mind that some of the town's hostels only offer beds to guests signed up for their wine tours.
