#33 of 46 in Wineries in Mendoza
Sample the wares at Bodega Septima, one of the largest wineries in Lujan de Cuyo, the region that produces 75% of Argentina’s wine. The 303 hectare (750 acre) estate was opened in 2002 by Codomiu Group, a big player in the wine business whose specialties lie in Spanish Cava production. The vineyard now offers tours, with a delicious steak lunch and the chance to sample some of the winery's finest wines. Knowledgeable guides will take you on a tour of tasting rooms and facilities, providing an insight into winemaking practices at the vineyard. • We carry out the visit to the winery with wine tasting. The architecture of the place is very cute, and not to mention the landscape that has this Winery! The guided tour was very complete. We did it with Aixa, a guide very biased and well prepared! We were lucky to go Saturday, so we were able to visit the plant in its entirety. Wine tasting includes 3 tags, and the truth that was very good!

  • There is no better thing to get to a place and feel very welcome. Especially when you are a newcomer to the city. The winery has a spectacular view to the mountains and building exploits that proposal. Tours of the vineyards next to the guides and then the production area are worth. The tour ended with a trip to the terrace where we enjoy wine tasting and table with bite and empanadas. The proposal is excellent. One against: wine prices are similar to those of the market. Difference is not.

  • Without an appointment, but at least they let us in. We couldn't do tasting. With goodwill, the seller of the store got me a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon (very good by the way) and we can get some premium wines. It was a good customer service.

  • Great service and wonderful views from the vineyard and restaurant. Knowledgable wine tour guides with beautiful architecture. Wines were quite reasonable too.
  • The seventh installation of a Spanish wine conglomerate - housed on a vast property, but somewhere between industrial and boutique production. A four course tasting lunch comes with paired wines and nice balcony views.
  • Amazing view and food
  • Excellent place to visit. Sale of wines at the lowest and highest. The explanation and very good tour. Filling process. Very good attention of the guides. Value of income 150 pesos per person.

Where to stay in Mendoza

As the center of Argentina's wine industry, Mendoza offers plenty of conventional hostel and hotel options, as well as a good selection of short-term apartments for rent. Visitors taking language courses or spending several weeks on the wine route usually snatch these early in the tourist season (which lasts from mid-December to late-February), so it's a good idea to do some research and contact the owners before you arrive. Keep in mind that some of the town's hostels only offer beds to guests signed up for their wine tours.
