Perito Moreno Glacier, Los Glaciares National Park
(4.9/5 based on 5,500+ reviews on the web)
Marvel at the immense, ice blue cliff face of Perito Moreno Glacier, which spills out into Argentino Lake. Every so often the sound of thunder echoes all around as a slab of ice cleaves off and plunges into the water below. Explore the walkways of the national park that faces the 250 sq km (97 sq mi) glacier, providing many different viewpoints and perspectives from which to admire the ice flow, as well as the surrounding, snow-capped mountains. For a closer look, take a boat tour out to where the wall of ice towers over you. The most adventurous travelers can hike on the glacier itself. Most of the park's walkways are wheelchair accessible. • No need for tour to go, a bus takes you to el calafate round trip the morning at 8: 00, arrival 10: 00 then return at 4 pm at el calafate, plenty of time to go around! 475 pesos, but there are free shuttles in the Park. Everything is on bridge, clearly means sounding the ice that falls and enlarged the Lake... The weather is better, ca sale! Take his sandwich, cafeteria on expensive place and lots of waiting! The entrance is at 330 pesos for foreigners very expensive but essential!

  • Arrived at the airport the day 9/12 already had a car rented from there started at the National Park, are 80 kilometers of very good route is easy to reach, the entrance to the Park costs 200 pesos x person the truth is nothing to see the extent of the glacier Perito Moreno could not describe what we live with my wife arriving not can be told something so wonderful , is something that you will serve if they do not wear to eat inside the park there is a restaurant with very good prices, example milanesa sandwich full 100 pesos, if they want to make output catamaran reaching the glacier have to walk about 300 mtros and this down to the place but do it before reaching the glacier, good friends I hope can use them the data and I am for any query to the fellow travelers.

  • Yes. It is as incredible as they say. I wasn't quite sure if it would live up to the hype or not but it really did; go there, enjoy it, take way too many photos and sit in awe waiting for sections to carve off. Brilliant!. Be aware that most, if not all, tours will drop you off for 6 hours, this is pretty much way too long for most people if they are honest - taking a kindle along isn't such a bad idea. If you have kids then you will definitely want to bring along something else to entertain them!
  • Magnificent, up-close views of the third largest glacier on the planet. A short drive from El Calafate, you can wander across the front of the glacier on well-made steel walkways that safely bring you to unobstructed views of the glacier face; you can watch as large sections of ice calve into the lake. There are also boat tours that give a lower awe inspiring view of the very tall glacial face. For, the young, fit, and adventurous, there's an excursion which lets you hike on the glacier.
  • There are no words that can accurately describe walking about on this Glacier. It's a magically majestic place. The light changes make every moment one that you will cherish for the rest of your life.
  • Unforgettable! We booked a half-day trip with Chalten Travel (ARS450) from Calafate town centre to the fantastic Perito Moreno glacier. Drive took just under 2 hours including a short stop at the entrance of Parque nacional los glaciares to pay the entrance fee (ARS 260). Was WELL WORTH THE AMAZING VIEW! Did not bother with visiting the cafe. Just strolled along the wooden trail set directly opposite the glacier, at different heights. Marvelled for hours!
  • Amazing showcase of how beautiful nature is. Different route provide different views to the glacier and it is definitely worth it to do more than one route
