  • I visited several times the route that has special attraction mount Zeballos. Starts in Los Antiguos, parallel to the cordillera of the Andes between Argentina and Chile, reaching step Roballos. The Zeballos was formed with the Andean cordillera, was a volcano that left some rare formations as crests of some extinct animal. There are several km of route is to enjoy and amaze us. It can be made with own vehicle or hire a tour in Antiguos.Se recommended to get a snack and water since it is a trail without places where buy. It is a beautiful experience!

  • It is one of the few tours that you can do in your vehicle (unless when it has neither rained nor snowed). The landscape is beautiful. I recommend go to the Posadas Lake and return route 40 to Los Antiguos and Perito Moreno.

  • The road to mount Zeballos is part of provincial route 41, ranging from the old national route 40, about 10 km north of Bajo Caracoles. It is essential to inform state of the route before, since depending on the weather the road may be impassable or walkable. Areas of stones loose, of clay, or have it make complicated for cars common. But beyond this are landscapes, starting with a viewpoint of the whole area of Los Antiguos, with the framework of the Buenos Aires Lake, the Jeinimeni River and up to the Andes, with the distant presence of the Castle Hill, in Chile. Then areas of steppe, mountain forests and a lunar landscape are exchanged at the highest point, el Portezuelo, immediate neighbor to mount Zeballos. From here in days of heaven clear or with clouds high is can see towards the South it face north of the Monte San Lorenzo. From the pass the road begins to lower and the landscape returns to convert is in the plateau Patagonian, each time more marked as us are going to the this. After the detour for the border crossing Roballos you reach fork which allows follow Lake Posadas or walk up to the junction with Route 40. For this last option, you reach Lakes column and Ghio, who in windless days can show perfect reflections of the landscapes that surround them. In synthesis a road full of postcards, but that requires much patience to walk it in vehicle
