  • The Church and Convent is located no more than one block from main plaza 25 de Mayo in the heart of La Rioja, has a particular construction that is made of stone and is of the few places that the earthquake was standing. It is also very cute inside, worth knowing it.

  • It is very nice, from the outside looks like a chapel. Built in stone by the entrusted Indians. It is one of the oldest buildings in Argentina. It was declared a national historic landmark. In 1623, he began to build with the Indians of the encomienda labor. One of the few buildings that remain from the time colonial. With the great earthquake of 1894, the convent was almost destroyed, but the outer walls of the Church, which were made of stone, resisted, not inside that was partially destroyed. Wood which is located above the entrance door was carved by Indians and the wood used was the algarrobo. It is one block from the Plaza 25 de Mayo, in the heart of the old town.

  • According to it is carved on her door is from 1623. Happy to find him in such a good state of conservation. In 1894 there was an earthquake in the city which destroyed everything and the only colonial building that was left standing was this church.

  • It is the oldest chapel of the city and the truth that is spectacular. It is neither big nor very picturesque, but every detail can be seen that it is a century-old structure. It doesn't matter if you're not very Catholic, the building is living history.
