Where to stay in La Plata

Many of La Plata's accommodation options lie within the geometric square of the city core, which plays home to a majority of the town's tourist attractions. The variety of mid-range hotels in the city center keeps prices reasonably low; many of these are located in historic buildings just a few blocks from central Plaza Morena and within easy walking distance to the museum of La Plata, the cathedral, and main road arteries. If you're on a tight budget, consider staying at one of the city center's many hostels; though you'll likely be sharing a room with others in bunk beds, the low prices make them economical options.

  • Housing who was founder of the city in 1882, in the founding block and front of the place in which the 19 of Nov. 1882 is placed the first stone of the historic event. It contains original period furniture, family and objects from that period of vital trascencia for this city. The remains of the founder and his spouse, dona Paula Arana Merino Rocha, rest in the crypt located in the basement of the neighboring Cathedral of great interest for the visitor. Also nearby are Plaza Moreno, place where the cornerstone and the Municipal Palace of neo-Renaissance German style is inhumó. You will so appreciate that altogether, the history of the city and the special particularity of its creation and development; the ideas of the fate of peace and progress that led to those men who forged a nation in a few years comparable to the then and today first powers. Despite all this be passed and become reality relentlessly contrast with the vision and aspirations of those patricians.
