Curutchet House, La Plata

(4.5/5 based on 150+ reviews on the web)
Visit Curutchet House, an architectural wonder designer by Le Corbusier, constructed in 1949. The mainly white house features four floors and incorporates a ramp and spiral staircase located between the house and the medical office on the first floor. It took four years to build and is the only work by the architect in Argentina. The facade of the house is a brise-soleil, a feature that is designed to reduce heat by deflecting sunlight. • This House was designed by the architect. Le Corbusier, being the only one in America, for a medical platense. True single architectural work in its genre, you can very well see in a cult Argentine film, "man of next", I recommend seeing it. And to do so personally there are guided tours, but with very limited hours. It was recently declared a world heritage, in 2016. It is the entrance to the forest.

  • Extraordinary architectural work of Le Corbusier, situated in an emblematic area of the city, metres from the entrance to the forest. The space has been recovered for the realization of various projects and events cultural, and the tour by the House is exceptional.

  • The only work in south america for Le Corbusier (pioneer swiss architect) If you are foreigner you'll pay 150 pesos, if local 60 or 30, if local student 15 pesos. You have about 30 minutes to visit all the house alone. Take photos and set a little bit on the terrace. There are sketches for the place exhibited on 2nd floor, plus some of the house plans & sections.
  • Es linda.
  • I didn't get a chance to go inside
  • Excellent House, only work by Le Corbusier in Latin America, and now declared a world heritage by the UNESCO
