Cascada de Olaen, La Falda

3.8
#2 of 7 in Things to do in La Falda
Visit the picturesque Cascada de Olaen to swim in its spacious lagoon. Take a drive from La Falda along a 20 km (12.4 mile) gravel road to reach the secluded waterfall. Climb down from the parking area, but watch your step, especially if you visit after a heavy rain. Relax by the waterfall's basin, listening to the steadily rushing cascade. Don't forget to bring swimwear to cool off in the chilly water, and pack a few snacks for a picnic near the pristine falls. • Well wanted to tell that I just get that totally sad and disillusioned cascade arrived at 3 p.m. paid the 200 pesos and when we began to descend the owner, commissioned, not is it began to play a whistle to come out all because came increased output to all of us without having reached had that return obviously asked if me devolvia money because I just came and told me q not that I stay on the shore taking Matt but money not me the devolvia. I felt cheated by that type. We went dead heat because there are 18 km from the route with an ugly path of loose stones and tips horrible experience but the worst such as unpleasant and swindler but never again. Tourists who were coming, also was paid in advance and then were surprised not to be able to swim.

  • It is a small natural paradise that gradually became very visited, today I find it very suitable for an afternoon family. Who wants to swim can do so perfectly in the bottom of the waterfall since their depth more than 10 metres. If the idea is that children have fun, ideally before the fall because that is an area beach of little quantity of water. The place also is a chapel from the end of 1700 and during the road, very near the entrance to the venue you can visit a cemetery at the same time.

  • I was on two occasions and both spent a wonderful afternoon. While the road from La Falda until the site is somewhat complicated, it is worth going up there. The two times I visited it was too much people. It is advisable to go early to get a good place, since there is no much space once he gets towards the pot/hoya. The water is crystal clear and fresh, can float or swim all afternoon. The deficit that takes the place is in the precarious supply, as well as the bathrooms. There is no shadow in the parking area. It should also be noted that when one draws near the landscape is very beautiful.
