House of Manuel Mujica Lainez, La Cumbre

#2 of 13 in Things to do in La Cumbre
Take a trip back into Argentina's literary heritage at House of Manuel Mujica Lainez, once the primary residence of famous writer Manuel Mujica Láinez. Built between 1915 and 1920, the house offers a well-preserved example of bold domestic architecture from the time, with its whitewashed walls and many terracotta roofs. Inside, the building houses the writer's furniture, clothes, ornaments, and artworks, positioned in situ across the many rooms. Head to the library to see exhibits on the author's main research subjects and interests. The landscaped gardens--the work of architect and landscaping artist Carlos Thays--include ornamental features, such as fountains and statues, connected by pleasant walking routes. It is a very interesting visit. The guide who took us out of the House and the secrets of Manucho, did it in a very entertaining way.

They must be more than 7 times and each day something I am surprised! Today we had a wonderful guide, a pity that not sell more things of memory, keep a replica of the little man of the tile and the head of Bomarzo I bought over 20 years ago! Paradise always surprises!

Architecture and gardens, a historic place, not to be missed. Gardens with forking paths, terraces, flower parterres, a Spanish style, Andalusian-tiled mansion and a vine that continues still fruiting.
