Beautiful monument that honors the heroes of the fatherland. The jujenos, most other people are proud of their historical past and do nothing but talk about,(si se les pregunta), of the important role they played in the struggle for the liberation of the homeland.

While, generally, is honored the descendants of Europeans who fought against the Spanish, this monument honors the natives who turned the history in the North. Wonderful monument seen from different angles in the course of the people.

Monument to Heroes of independence is an imposing group of sculptures, work by Ernesto Soto Avendaño, was erected on the occasion of paying homage to the Argentine army's North and Gaucho squads of the Quebrada de Humahuaca in command of the colonels Álvarez Prado and Arias, Martín Miguel de Güemes-dependent. Basically since 1816, when the defense of the northern border was in charge of the town of Salta and Jujuy led by Güemes. In addition to the historical is an ideal place to take pictures

From below it seems cute but impossible to climb so many stairs with more than 30 ° of temperature that did in April when I went. The base was full, up nobody did not.
