  • I made a reservation to stop one night a Saturday in September with my family as a scale break trip from Puerto Madryn, transferring 50% of the value by CBU... Grosso Error on my part! I summarize what I found when you arrive: 1) gave Me room for 5 with 2 mattresses on the floor! ((2) abandoned public areas (grown grasses and unusable pool) 3) restaurant closed, they showed me that if I wanted to have dinner I could buy food in the village (10 km) and go eat it there... (4) the thermal baths also absent and excused since "enable them only in the morning". Given the discomfort I decided to retire, continue journey without proper rest and lose money from the reserve, which the "Sr Luis" promises return to me and never makes it... seems to me is loading. If ever he returns me this comment I retractaré.

  • I will refer to the hot springs resort of Guatraché. 1. misleading advertising. I do not recommend going if you do cold. The complex not posse water thermal in winter, only there is an outdoor pool and would like to confirm if indeed it is thermal water in summer. The touted spa is just a couple of bathtubs with non-thermal, little hygienic hot water. Simple rooms, when they have no light, hot water does not come out, very poor heating. Breakfast limited, have to guess what the thermos of coffee or what that of milk. If you do not want to waste time, silver or renege with "owner" I recommend not to go to this resort. Attached to this "thermal complex" there is a municipal campsite that nothing has to do and is publicly accessible. Guatraché is beautiful, the landscape around the lagoon too, but this thermal resort leaves much to be desired as well as responsible for the same.

  • Amid the pampeano monte, it is possible to meet this very picturesque place. The salt water lagoon is surrounded by cliffs with the typical vegetation of the mountain (low and thorny trees). They say those who know that it has properties to relieve rheumatic pains. As the salt concentration is far superior to the sea it is possible to fall asleep in the water making the iron without sinking as if you were in the dead sea... (I confess that almost happened, hehe!). For who does not want to bathe in the lagoon there is a semi-Olympic municipal pool on the same grounds. Complete facilities for camping (tent or rolling box) with showers, hot water and electricity. A detail: despite being in the middle of the mountain there is cell phone signal! The infrastructure of the place is basic but all very comfortable, clean and at prices very reasonable. It is possible to stay in the same hot springs, which are 10 kms from Guatraché by paved road. Or in the same town (there is a simple but very comfortable and clean hotel opposite the Esso service station). I have also seen a complex of cabins on the ring road. The access road goes to one of the cliffs and then down to the municipal park on the shore of the lagoon, giving the illusion that the car will end up in the water down. It's a walk to make ideally at the end of November until the middle of March. Pin a swim in the lagoon on full moon nights. It has about 1500 meters of width and it is possible to cross it on foot only in the Center has about two meters deep (but it is very easy to swim making the iron). In addition to the lagoon, another attraction in the area is the Mennonite colony (about 35 kms from Guatraché dirt road in fair condition). A trip to the past is see people driving through the streets in their carriages pulled by horses. And everyone dressed like. Can visit is as point intermediate to those who go to the South. Alpachiri, 45 kms from Guatraché, out route 20 then turns into the desert.
