  • One of the walks we do being in Esquel was the trip in la Trochita. It was truly magical, it's like time travel and discover its history. The tour we did was to Nahuel Pan. Really is a very scenic, passing through beautiful landscapes, disturbing, solemn. Every now and then you hear the whistle, boiler dismisses the smoke of old, wooden wagons and salamanders make this historic train an unmissable attraction. The explanation of the guides us back to times when the train was called old Patagonian Express. We look forward to the arrival of the trochita in Esquel station, old and very cute. Then when the train arrived we got and they explained to us that the route was 18 km but how it goes very slow it takes enough. We cross slopes of the hills and the Valley at the foot of the cerro Nahuel Pan. We got there and another story begins. This village belongs to the Mapuche community Tehuelche where we visited the Museum of native cultures, buy some crafts and enjoy the songs of the Mapuche people. A unique experience. The train was declared a national historic landmark.

  • The experience was excellent. Impossible to Esquel and not traveling in this Centennial train with a path surrounded by unique landscapes. We made the trip in full July with all snow. In season departs daily at 10 am. Out of season, only Saturdays at 10 am. Not to be without tickets, it is convenient to make the purchase beforehand. You can contact with the web and make a bank transfer. Then, the day chosen passages only removed at box office.

  • Travel twice in la Trochita despite that is a service that depends on the state provincial could have better service as it is visited by tourists of the whole world. The landscape is beautiful but I sincerely imagined another thing is just to reach the Nahuel Pan station and consume what the local craftsmen offer and the mapuche community for that charge $450 ticket seems a scam, I think that with a more reasonable passage it would be enough. In addition the tour is just 19km where can also be reached by car. Honestly for me it is badly organized and managed. And the guide that I had a short and clear eyes girl pretty proud and haughty in two trips. So leave the work to someone who has wanted to work because they thus make them stay after. I only recommend the trochita by landscape then prepare your wallet because get you silver from all sides the photographer who is in wagons serving then a singer of the mapuche community offering his work per $100 not to mention arriving at the station who are waiting that you come down the train to spend money... anyway. Argentina is as well!
