Salto El Chorrillo, El Chalten

4.0
Half hidden by green woods traversed by many hiking trails, Salto El Chorrillo drops from a height of 20 m (66 ft). During cold winters, the waterfall freezes and becomes a location for practicing ice climbing. On warm sunny days, the big flat rocks and picnic grounds surrounding the waterfall offer opportunities for leisure and picnicking. Bring fresh water, a waterproof coat, and a camera. It is easy to reach there. The hike has no complications. The place is very nice to take pictures and very quiet. hear the sound of water falling, is very cute

It is a forced stop. A beautiful waterfall that makes his leap from a Summit surrounded by Andean-Patagonian forest. Her arrival is extremely simple, just 5 minutes walking through the forest in the plain. Perhaps the simplicity with which will arrive and it is only contemplative stop is its main opposition, but at the same time is what overrides any excuse to not visit.

Note the details beyond the waterfall that is very beautiful and easily accessible. Note the vegetation, the mountains on the other side and the contrast between the dry and the nevada portion of the horizon. Is a representation of the range.

Where to stay in El Chalten

Thanks to the city's small size, almost all of the accommodation options in El Chalten are within easy walking distance of anything of note in town. Most "hotels" are in fact cozy alpine-style lodges catering to international visitors, and tend to be on the pricier side due to their upscale amenities. Alternatively, you can stay in one of the many campsites outside town, though weather here can be harsh. During the high season in January and February, you'll need to book at least a month or two in advance as lodging fills up fast. Keep in mind that El Chalten depends heavily on seasonal tourism for its income, and many hotels and lodges, particularly smaller, family-run affairs, close down during the winter off-season. On the flip side, many of those that remain open offer lower winter rates.
