Laguna Capri, El Chalten

4.7
Hike from El Chalten to the green-blue lake of Laguna Capri, which awards visitors with picturesque views of forested hillsides and jagged snowcapped mountains. The scenic landscape and the scents of nature invite you to continue trekking, while the singing of birds and the calmness of water lure you to repose on the soft sandy shore of the lake. The water is usually too cold for swimming, but you can wade through the shoals on warmer days. Bring plenty of fresh water, snacks and sandwiches for a picnic, and a waterproof coat if you plan to camp overnight. To visit Laguna Capri on your trip to El Chalten, use our El Chalten trip app .

  • Back from Lake of the three on the road to el Chalten this lagoon. A place to take a break, breathe deep and enjoy the landscape with the imposing Fitz Roy behind him. advisable to go when he returns from the three lagoon because then is continuous to el Chalten in descent. Do it the other way round is a raise more than important not recommended.

  • Such a beautiful clear lake. If you come in the summer you can swim here. One hour walk from El Chalten  more »
  • I did a walk beats back with the Extreme Patagonia company that allowed me to make this circuit only. Is a long one, full of climbs. The Lake is nice, but I wouldn't go back again. It took around 4:00 (roundtrip) with several stops. The entry is not paid.

  • One of the most beautiful places on the Fitz Roy trail or anywhere for that matter. So peaceful and calm in the morning. Must visit.
  • Clear bluish calm waters with a great view of El Chalten
  • A journey of 2 hours and a half between the snow, ice and mud. Essential shoes and waterproof trousers. A pair of spare thermal socks. Water, a hot soup and sweets. Poles trekking (or a stick that is out there). Connect with nature. Perhaps one of those experiences that you remember forever. Greetings to my French colleagues in route with this photo

  • Wonderful site of beautiful nature, essential for visitors to El Chalten. The camonhada is, the first 2.5 kilometers are mainly the start ramp. To compensate there are viewpoints that provide us with wonderful views, then stop, breathe, take the photos you want and then move on. Don't give up, you will be rewarded in the end.

  • When I went it rained so we could not enjoy the place. We only stopped to take some pictures and then ate something under a tree.
