  • We went via Estancia Christina - it is a long day on the boat - bring a book, but comfortable and gorgeous scenery. The ranch and 4X4ride were lots of fun.  more »
  • Although now only you can see it from far away this huge glacier is worth a visit. There are options to do so, only by water or a water mix.

  • The Upsala Glacier is located within the los Glaciares National Park and your access is given by the entry in the Park next to the catamaran made by several companies in a tourist named Rivers tours de Hielo. Recommend. DMM.

Where to stay in El Calafate

El Calafate offers abundant lodgings, from budget-friendly guesthouses to four-star hotels. Top beds sell out well before the peak season (October to April, and especially December to February), so it's a good idea to reserve in advance if you plan to visit during that time. Spontaneous travelers without prior arrangements can look for youth hostels, many of which are located just outside of town. To stay in comfort without burning a hole in your wallet, consider vacationing here during the low season, when most hotels offer deep discounts.
