Av del Libertador, El Calafate
(3.4/5 based on 1,300+ reviews on the web)
One of the city's main arteries, Av del Libertador was built in 1885 to ease the rapidly growing center's congestion problems. The 7 km (4.5 mi) avenue connects the central Retiro station to Tigre in the north, via the desirable neighborhood of Palermo. Walk down the avenue at your own leisure, stopping along the way at one of many cafes and restaurants for refreshments. You can also find plenty of shops and travel agents along the street. A visit to Av del Libertador represents just the start of the adventure when you use our El Calafate vacation generator to plot your vacation.

  • Full of shops, souvenirs, places to eat. Tourists and shops to guide, has two flaws: many ones but abandoned the city, and the drivers are rude and accelerate when you see across the street. Very careful then.

  • We walked several times on AV. Del Libertador. There's a beautiful Bookstore called Boutique del Libro, where I bought some titles. There are restaurants, shops and ice cream parlors, in addition to a beautiful bakery!
