El Bosque Tallado, El Bolson

3.7
#2 of 7 in Museums in Province of Rio Negro
See magical works of art at El Bosque Tallado, an outdoor sculpture gallery set in the wilderness. After forest fires devastated the area in the 1980s, a group of artists from across the nation came together to create sculptures using trunks from what remained of the trees. With fairies, spirits, and woodland creatures all charmingly depicted in the wood, the 50 or so sculptures nicely represent the relationship between art and nature. The site is around an hour's walk from the parking lot, so bring suitable footwear. Make El Bosque Tallado part of your personalized El Bolson itinerary using our El Bolson holiday site .

  • The place is a beautiful forest with carved trees. The truth is that it is not something essential, but on the way to the shelter of the Piltriquitrón should go. It is a cute path with sculptures in wood. The road up to the arrival, is cute. It is a walk of 1 hour at a quiet pace. It can be reached by car (to my mind not recommended), walking (many walk for short) or in combi as we did. The combi took it in the central square, it cost US $200 per person and left us at the base of the walk (is 1 hour from downtown). To lower, informs you the hour in which go down and waiting for you until you come down. It should clarify that while you da, is sufficient to go to the carved forest, refuge and to eat. I think that it would not return it to do

  • It is located in the same way that goes to the shelter of the piltriquitrón. What has the forest are the views and the chance of seeing wildlife, the sculptures are not very good at least for someone who is not an expert. Recommend making the road and go to the sautéed shelter carved forest. The entrance to the forest is $100 per person (February 2018) and explore it takes not more than 20 minutes.

  • To access the forest you must pass a path winding and in very poor condition, especially the last 4 km. A parking lot is reached and from there you walk around 1800 m all in rise, so it is not suitable for everyone. They charge an admission of $100 per person. The works, in general, are very beautiful and the views are spectacular. The effort is worth it!
