El Bosque Tallado, El Bolson

(3.8/5 based on 340+ reviews on the web)
See magical works of art at El Bosque Tallado, an outdoor sculpture gallery set in the wilderness. After forest fires devastated the area in the 1980s, a group of artists from across the nation came together to create sculptures using trunks from what remained of the trees. With fairies, spirits, and woodland creatures all charmingly depicted in the wood, the 50 or so sculptures nicely represent the relationship between art and nature. The site is around an hour's walk from the parking lot, so bring suitable footwear. • After arriving at the base of the Hill, we start a walk uphill for about 40 minutes. It is not simple and indicates it only the sign in the parking lot as a high level. It is very beautiful carved forest refuge even above. The walk is for Agile people and wanting. We saw raise children and adult people with much difficulty.

  • Beautiful landscape, adorned by several sculptures carved on wood. Although most of the road from route can be done by car, the last (relatively tiring) part is Yes or Yes walk. Internal signage of the route could be more guidance (given that the ride is not very linear), but does not make much difference because the sculptures are from a reasonable distance. The day we went (October 26, 2016) were missing some posters with the corresponding name of some sculptures, but most of the posters were in good condition.

  • To access road is gravel and is in very poor condition. You must leave the car 1 km before the carved forest. You must climb walking along a path of descent fairly insecure: it has no Rails and there are many stones. Do not recommend for children or elderly people because you have to do a little physical effort to get, and the road so narrow and high does not help.

  • Lot of magic in the place, beautiful views. A walk by a trail in bad state, steep, with areas of average difficulty but that is worth the penalty make and enjoy.
