I know several places and landscapes of southern Argentina... and sincerely believe that this at the top of my favorites! I walk in winter (June); It's a trek that took us about 7 hours in total (roundtrip). It is hard, and the ideal is to have a minimum physical preparation. The landscapes that one sees are amazing... and of the Blue River is simply spectacular. We went and came back in the day... but it is night at the refuge. Must see if these in El Bolson

Thought we do night in ice blue and hence move to drawer, but the day was rainy, so we decided to just go to the drawer and again. We checked in to the office of mountain, where previously we had gone to find out, one of those who attended us was very cool, the other seemed to us was overrunning. Regarding the drawer travel the road is very cute, is what is most enjoyed, mostly because the shelter is closed for renovation. It took us three hours of ida and three back. Arriving at the drawer there was a sign saying that you could cross and go to the shelter, or first go to the drawer and then to the shelter... We chose this second option, a slightly more complicated way because there were some wet wood stairs. Return from refuge, we wanted to take this first way that we had not done, but we delayed enough because many trees had fallen and we saw no marks, the question is that we ended up going out to the bridge of mandera of refuge tronconada... consider later. So to pay attention to brands because being closed the refuge, are not doing much maintenance road.

Visited here on a hot day. The walk was steady, with plenty of ups and downs, so I recommend good shoes. Caught a taxi to Walton, as the bus was not very often. The walk took about 4 hours return, not...  more »
