Take a trip to Florentino Ameghino Dam, a gravity river dam in a picturesque valley. Located on the Chubut River, which is supplied by snow melting from the Andes, the dam was inaugurated in 1963 and named after an Argentine natural scientist. Admire the view of the imposing structure, which is surrounded by interesting rock formations, and spans the emerald waters of the river. Explore the tranquil area on a bike, walk, or try your hand at canoeing and kayaking in the region. You can bathe and swim in the river water, just remember it's very cold. • On our way from Bariloche to the Valdes peninsula we had an overnight in a small settlement on the Digue Florentino Ameghino. After you previously for hours drove through the pampas landscape, the Green Valley like an oasis's. This effect is supported, since you can only see the dam after they drove through a small tunnel. Views specifically when the sun shines on the water reservoir and the opposite Valley is beautiful. Of course the detour not worth extra so, but who ever is on the way, it should look at.

  • Since you enter until salis is all amazing! The way to get the scenery offers more cute and once this there to contemplate aside the immensity of the dam and the other colors of the Valley is something magical. Simply beautiful!

  • Worth diverted kilometers of route 25 and access this beautiful tourist town where you can see the dam and the dam hydroelectric plant surrounded by a beautiful landscape that gives us the nature between the mountains and the water you can see some beautiful colors. After crossing the dam and of pass by ones tunnels is can get on the edge of the River, there there is a campsite that has with tables and grills. Gets the best views from the top of the dam
