Museo Palacio Ferreyra, Cordoba

(4.6/5 based on 750+ reviews on the web)
Housed in the stately Ferreyra Palace, Museo Palacio Ferreyra is worth a visit to see both the architecture and the exhibits held within. The building, a Beaux-arts mansion designed by architect Ernest Sanson from France, was built between 1912 and 1916 as a private residence for a wealthy local doctor, Dr. Ferreyra. In 2005, the government bought the mansion and began renovations to create the museum. Across 12 exhibit halls, the museum displays more than 500 works of art, including pieces by artists such as Pablo Picasso, Francisco Goya, and Gustave Courbet. While admiring the artwork, also take time to appreciate the fine mosaic floors of the palace as you stroll along. You may also find described under the English name Evita Fine Arts Museum. • Few steps from Plaza Spain, in the neighbourhood of Nueva Córdoba lies this spectacular building which, for its architecture and relevance, already in itself is a reason for visit. Went in several opportunities because apart from them exhibitions permanent where is highlights the work of artists local, is add various samples temporary along the year. The casona itself captures the interest of visitors with its architectural and decorative details from its central staircase up to the Cafe which also extends their tables on the terrace. The place boasts facilities for people with reduced mobility and can be visited throughout the year. The entrance is very accessible and more even if is it combines with the of the Museum Caraffa, obtaining an important discount, being free and free them days Wednesday. There are guided tours free of charge I suggest do allowing you to get to know and appreciate both the building and its contents.

  • The preservation of landmark achievements of the original building, including the beautiful chapel and the incorporation of resources modern (such as the source, playgrounds, bathrooms, rest bar, the green space in front of the Capuchins) which merge with the pre-existing, and make this a must visit for locals and tourists. We had lunch in the courtyard under a few umbrellas, very comfortable and very tasty food.
