  • We were lucky to be around when this convent church was open to see the beautiful altarpiece and experience the quiet just off the main plaza.  more »
  • The monastery of Santa Teresa in the hands of the Tejeda, prestigious family of peninsular lineage was founded in the year 1628. Don Juan de Tejeda was the father of the first poet of the Río de La Plata: Luis de Tejeda. The final Church was built between the years 1753 and 1758. The design and construction were directed by the poet Fray José Tejeda y Guzmán. The Church of Santa Teresa is one of the best exponents of the colonial architecture of Cordoba. In a single nave with three choirs, stands a beautiful baroque carving of Santa Teresa, brought from Spain at the end of the 18th century.
