Iglesia Catedral de Córdoba, Cordoba

Right next to the city's main plaza, Iglesia Catedral de Córdoba features a mish-mash of architectural styles owing to its long construction process. Begun in the 16th century, the cathedral did not see completion until nearly two centuries later, and displays Romanesque, Baroque, and Neoclassical features, among others. Visit the iconic building and admire its stately exterior, complete with arched entryways and two squat bell towers. Head inside and you'll find its vaulted interior decorated with large amounts of golden accents and a range of intricate religious artwork, painted by local son Emilio Caraffa. The Cathedral is located in the financial district of the capital and also in what is called religious circuit. Opposite the Plaza San Martin and next to the historic cabildo is summarized the history of the Foundation of Córdoba. Nearby are the Church San Francisco first Church of Cordoba, founded in 1575, the monastery of Santa Teresa old solar Tejeda family, the convent of the Barefoot Carmelites, the Jesuit church of the company of Jesus in full Apple Jesuisitica where there is also the Colegio Nacional de Monserrat founded in 1687. This circuit you moved to the old Cordoba and will make you enjoy architectural relics and incredible stories. There are guided tours that depart from the cultural centre Bishop flea market on the side of the plaza.

We are entering a sacred place that keeps the history of Cordoba in its walls and in its ancient aroma. A relic inside.
