Archivo Provincial de la Memoria, Cordoba
(4.4/5 based on 110+ reviews on the web)
Pay tribute to and contemplate the lives lost during Argentina's military junta reign in the 1980s at Archivo Provincial de la Memoria. The archival center remembers the horrific acts inflicted upon the Argentine public from state police during the political troubles of the time. Look out for the especially moving photos of the victims with their families before the troubles began, which portray smiling, happy people unaware of what was to come. Even if you're not well-versed in recent South American history, you can appreciate the archive for its fearless documentation of the state’s wrongdoings during the country's most turbulent times. • An emotional experience, for those who have lived in dictatorship and we value human rights. Not to be missed. The location is very central.

  • The site has relevant historical information, is small. The visit is fast. The feeling is intense.

  • Absolutely a must stop if you are in town ... salt mixed with pain, death, fear and suffering. You can read the stories of people who went through those corridors, look at their photos, hear the desperation ... moving and poignant, little known perhaps for us Europeans, but that should not be ignored.
