  • My grandfather received gold medal for his 25 years of service in hostile weather conditions and work degrading. Today everything has changed, even the weather is more benign except in the winter. Everything is very well plotted in Tomás and signs of difficult activity poorly valued by those who just enjoy their benefits!

  • It is a place where you can meet people in the history of oil, their watersheds, its tools. It is the second well discovered oil, within the premises of the Museum.

  • It is a site Museum (because it is built around an original oil-well). It was the place where oil was found for the first time in our country. The Museum originally belonged to YPF (Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales) but was later transferred to the University of the Patagonia when YPF was privatized. By its specific theme, it is a Museum of science and technology. It has a simulator on tap. A show! The Museum exhibits, pedagogically, everything related to black gold. People that was involved, how was exploiting and industrializing country, models, photos, drawings of distilleries, diagrams of the Argentine oil basins, fireproof suits, things that are made in this era modern post derived from petroleum (thousands of) (things that one not imagine!), letters and telegrams of time and a long etcetera. The two parts of the Museum can be visited: the external and the internal. In the first you can see machineries, tools, trucks, borers, etc., while on the inside (excellent, incidentally), you can learn about the evolution of our planet, the fossil and the origin and formation of oil. In addition to visit what they call the "tunnel of time" (detail in chronological order of the life of the universe, from the Big Bang to the present day). It is a Museum of important national and international, comparable only to the United States, Russia and Canada. It is considered unique in its kind in Latin America. In my opinion, it is a museum that should be included in the educational field trips. Must-see!
