Molino Forclaz, Colon

(4.1/5 based on 360+ reviews on the web)
Visit a rustic and charming monument to the agricultural heritage of the area at Molino Forclaz, an aesthetically pleasing stone windmill. The brainchild of Juan Bautista Forclaz, a Swiss immigrant, the windmill was completed in 1890. Unfortunately, due to the lack of proper wind speed and consistency required for the blades to turn, the windmill went largely unused until it became a local attraction and a National Historic Landmark in 1985. • It is a beautiful place, where we were with the kids before you go to the beach. We toured the mill with a guide, it was very interesting and took about 30 min. Then we were in the Park and in the games as a hour more. We pay $25 entry adults. Highly recommended.

  • To get to the place it is not very accessible. That is, if it rains or rained, not is a good choice. The place is small but is organized well. There are clean bathrooms (Yes, clean!) and a small square of game for kids. Also there are a few tables and bancps. There are visits guided and dramatized, according to schedules. Recommended.

  • Declared a national historic monument. Through the passage of time, it shows all the effort of our settlers, it was built in 1888 and is a picture of style in Entre Rios fields Dutch style. Designed for the grinding of grains of wheat and corn. Now you can enjoy visits guided dramatized where staging is to relive the history of the Forclaz family. Time of visit: 1 hour. Recommendation: visits guided dramatized.
