Molino Forclaz, Colon

4.2
#1 of 17 in Historic Sites in Province of Entre Rios
Visit a rustic and charming monument to the agricultural heritage of the area at Molino Forclaz, an aesthetically pleasing stone windmill. The brainchild of Juan Bautista Forclaz, a Swiss immigrant, the windmill was completed in 1890. Unfortunately, due to the lack of proper wind speed and consistency required for the blades to turn, the windmill went largely unused until it became a local attraction and a National Historic Landmark in 1985. Make Molino Forclaz a part of your Colon vacation plans using our Colon day trip planning site .

  • I had been in another kind of mill, a water mill and not in wind like this one and the truth that found me very interesting, never ceases to soprenderme as it was years ago life! If interested in one learn a little while walking, you have to take advantage and go. The place is very well kept, very neat. The guide is very helpful and explains everything you want to know. Entry is $25. There are some days and times in which dramatised visits are made, there are those asking well the day and schedule that are made and there entry is much more face. If these in the area, make check out there!

  • Very close to the city of Colon, you can not not to visit it, it is a museum with lots of history of immigrant as antas that we have in our country, where you can see the effort and struggle for the progress of these immigrants who came to populate this vast and beautiful country Has guided tours, which charged a bonus contribution, in order to maintain the place, I do not tell details of the story so that you find out you, recommend it to you.

  • Very good place. A national historic landmark. A great story of a Dutch immigrant who left his life trying to operate a windmill. A very nice place between Colón and San José, Entre Ríos. Very well recreated the life of late 1800. Excellent work of accessible tourism. To have explanation in Braille

Where to stay in Colon

The most popular place to look for accommodations in Colon lies between Av. Pres. Juan Domingo Peron and the Uruguay River. Attractive riverfront hotels offer good selections of amenities, including pools, spas, and well-appointed dining rooms. As a rule, head farther from the Uruguay River if you're looking for a budget-friendly option. On the side streets of Colon's main neighborhoods, you'll find a good selection of family-run posadas (guesthouses) and simple hotels offering comfortable rooms for a good night's sleep.
