Molino Forclaz, Colon
(4.1/5 based on 340+ reviews on the web)
Visit a rustic and charming monument to the agricultural heritage of the area at Molino Forclaz, an aesthetically pleasing stone windmill. The brainchild of Juan Bautista Forclaz, a Swiss immigrant, the windmill was completed in 1890. Unfortunately, due to the lack of proper wind speed and consistency required for the blades to turn, the windmill went largely unused until it became a local attraction and a National Historic Landmark in 1985. Choose to start, finish, or center your holiday on a trip to Molino Forclaz by using our Colon travel itinerary planner.

  • It is a place where you will find a story based on a man who wanted to improve the work system, for the benefit of several but failure in the attempt, can be found the remains of their housing and the famous mill, in the company of a person who relates what happened to European immigrants who came to our country to fight and work can come to understand what I mean its failure to "Swiss" worth the visit

  • The story of the efforts of a Swiss immigrant, who built a beautiful windmill with his own hands, although the lack of winds in the area determined his failure and the tragic end of the Miller. It is also the original House of the first immigrants, which is a museum.
