Mirador del portezuelo, Chilecito
(4.1/5 based on 140+ reviews on the web)
Dutifully surveying Chilecito with a watchful gaze and outstretched arms, Mirador del portezuelo was erected in honor of the city's 100th anniversary. The stately 16 m (53 ft) tall statue of Christ stands on top of a platform reached by 200 stairs. The statue is the work of sculptor Alejandro Carrizo, whose landmark invites devotees to ascend in order to strengthen their faith. Once you've climbed to the top, take a moment to appreciate the panoramic views of the city and surrounding countryside. You'll also find a water fountain feature, tourist information center, restrooms, and a confectionery stand nearby. • The Christ is beautiful, it looks like Rio de Janeiro. Despite having to climb 200 steps, at the end, it's worth. It has a beautiful view of the city of Chilecito and I loved the LED lighting and its large size. I went with the school on a field trip.
