Explore a settlement largely frozen in time at Carlos Keen, with examples of industrial architecture from the early 20th century. Founded in 1875, when workers came to the area thanks to the construction of a railway branch, the town grew in size and population at the beginning of the 20th century, reaching 4,000 inhabitants. The village now has a population of around 500, with many people leaving to seek employment in the capital since the 1940s. An old station, an attractive church, and a public library stand out as the village's most distinctive buildings, all of which come under heritage protection. • It's a beautiful walk to spend the whole day. I recommend to go early, at about 10 am. I thought that it was not exploited and was almost a town quiet and free of people. Error, there were many people and places to eat with great tail. Arm yourself with patience. The ride consists of the Park which surrounds the former railway station, where can tour the Park, station, the Church which is at the back and several places for lunch or the you. Also the option of staying in the Park take a picnic. It's a beautiful walk all day, bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and you need to be outdoors. The town is an hour from Capital. Although I admit to take nearly 2 hours to get traffic. I hope you enjoy it as much as me. They can go with their pets.

  • This year of spring day fell on Wednesday, with my husband decided to make us a break on the bike for lunch. It tempted us the idea of eating in the field away from the crowds who gather on weekends at these gastronomic centres. After so many years we discover that the place is "dead" on weekdays... will it be until the summer? fail not one only open place to eat... is to take into account.
