Complejo El Zapato, Capilla del Monte

2.4
#6 of 8 in Things to do in Capilla del Monte
Legend has it that hundreds of years ago, on every thirteenth moon, Indian chiefs, shamans, and healers would gather under Complejo El Zapato, which was shaped by wind and erosion in the recognizable form of a shoe. "The Shoe" clearly stands out among other granite rocks in this rugged and imposing mountain terrain. Look for a cave and a fountain next to the stone steps at the foot of the rock. Climb to the top of the rock for scenic views of the surroundings, including the Dolores River and the dam. A giant slide and a zipline will attract adventurous souls, while the rest can chill and grab a bite at a restaurant. For a memento to bring home, visit the crafts fair. Repeatedly visit the area of the shoe, this last time saw an oversight that is very large, with graffiti that make that it is no longer the same. The venue also very careless. while I was in the low season, that does not mean let it come down. Although few people go, they should keep it in better condition.

Dispensable completely. Nothing to highlight. Easy to reach but there is something that hook to stay. We went in July 2015, but I can't put that date

It's a beautiful area to see the whole valley, but the "zapato" itself is kind of a joke and not that interesting. They clued the rock on top of the base. Originally it was one piece, but now it just looks fake because of the cement. Aside from the shoe, go here to see the nice view of the mountains and the awesome lake. Good place to go to and very close to Capilla del Monte.
