Cascadas del rio colorado, Cafayate

4.4
Hike along the Colorado River to Cascadas del rio colorado, an 8 m (26 ft) waterfall suspended between two boulders. The hike takes some climbing, mostly along the riverbed. Along the way, you can see smaller waterfalls, ponds, and hills. Enjoy the scenic views, have a picnic, or take a dip in the waterfall. Bring suitable footwear and prepare for a challenging trek, as some parts are quite steep and riddled with rocks. encaminandose to the divisadero, the indigenous people will approach you to offer be your guide and depending on your possibilities you can go only to the first level (we went with small children) or some with greater difficulty, but I thought it was a great ride

First that have nothing to know that physical demand is important, I'm not do sports or going to the gym and really finish exhausted, but 100% worth it. Leave early is essential, I get 9 and again at 15. To get first you must take a taxi from plaza de cafayate and tell them that go until it begins where the Colorado River, they charge $150. If or if it should be with a guide, are not rats, it is impossible to do only, there are many dangers. We were a large group and hired Peter that is the diaguita community, made us price to $100 each, but gave him $150 because it helped us a lot that is us complicated a little. For anything in the world to hire first seized them that are at the entrance, are the diaguita community who are going to want to collect $300 each. To the third waterfall road is relatively easy, but later is complicated enough. There is an "easy" way which takes you direct to the seventh but I recommend to make it all complete. There are parts that are completely in ascent or descent and some places the road is very narrow and precipice. Wear shoes that can get wet because you have to cross all the time streams, and towel if they get into the water, I was in August and got the foot though it was congeladisima haha. In my group there was a girl who had panic at the stage and was very exciting when I finish the entire satisfaction has been animated and exceeded all the obstacles. So animense which is an unforgettable way, will not regret!

Excellent circuit to do trekking. It can be reached by car (also in bike and even walking) from Cafayate. It should be prepared to climb. At times it gets dangerous, but carefully reached the 6th. without problems. Reach the 7th. waterfall becomes very difficult and dangerous since it does not allow any slip or error. We did this with Group of kids between 11 and 14 years and no problems. It is not necessary to hire a guide, but is not of more (the cultural story becomes very attractive Promenade).
