Converted from a disused power plant and opened in 2011, the concert hall has rapidly become one of Buenos Aires' top venues to appreciate the arts. Take a guided tour to learn how the transofrmation took place, and get a feel for the atmosphere of the world-class music and arts venue, known for its excellent acoustics. It is a late nineteenth century electric power plant very well remodeled as a cultural center, offering concerts and free lectures in the three rooms available and usually there is an artistic exhibition. The rooms have a very good acoustics. The problem is that it is located in a highly degraded area of La Boca, next to the highway and yet, several years after its opening, has not had the effect of urban renewal that was expected. Night access is problematic, more by the feeling of loneliness than anything else. There is a beach parking lot under the highway. As in the surrounding area there is nothing, the Café located at the entrance to tends to be crowded. We must withdraw the tickets two hours prior to the function.

A friend invited me to see an exhibition of photography, and as he had heard talk about the power of art, accept the invitation and went. Really, I appreciate the idea of regaining a place almost historical in that part of the Capital, but in reality, my expectations were much higher... not satisfied sali.

A great place for art exhibitions and musical shows, it consists of a large space with many auditoriums and sufficient structure for several simultaneous events (most free). Check the schedule in advance, and arrive at least an hour or two before the event to pick up the tickets.

Where to stay in Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires offers an impressive selection of budget-friendly and mid-range lodgings, as well as pricier, more luxurious options for visitors who don't mind splashing out. Good rooms are scattered across town, but your best bet for economical hostels remains San Telmo, a neighborhood on the edge of downtown. For boutique establishments and international five-star hotels, head to Palermo, Recoleta, or Puerto Madero, upscale neighborhoods drawing the majority of foreign visitors.
