Hiking Trail Nature / Park
Escape the noise of the busy city at Reserva Ecologica, a peaceful nature reserve. Visit the 350 hectare (864 acre) park for a peaceful stroll, a casual picnic, or bird-watching. Over 300 species of birds live within this nature reserve, so if you’re an avid birder, come prepared with a pair of binoculars to catch some special sightings. Also keep your eyes peeled for river turtles, iguanas, and nutria. The park is set on the shoreline, so explore the eastern boundary of the reserve to see the Rio de la Plata up close. If the weather is nice, rent a bike to see more of the area. Plan to see Reserva Ecologica and other attractions that appeal to you using our Buenos Aires vacation route planner.

Where to stay in Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires offers an impressive selection of budget-friendly and mid-range lodgings, as well as pricier, more luxurious options for visitors who don't mind splashing out. Good rooms are scattered across town, but your best bet for economical hostels remains San Telmo, a neighborhood on the edge of downtown. For boutique establishments and international five-star hotels, head to Palermo, Recoleta, or Puerto Madero, upscale neighborhoods drawing the majority of foreign visitors.

  • This is a nice park right off central BA. You can make a nice day combining Puerto Madero and coming here. The walking trails in full take about 3-4 hours to do and I did the grand trail. There wasn't...  more »
  • Well shaded, nice trails/paths, great views of the water and marsh, flat terrain, decent birding, and popular. Good staff presence and excellent restroom. Does not open early, only at 9 or 10 AM.  more »
  • This is an area where you can walk, sit, run, bicycle, etc. It is a protected area for flora and fauna. It is right on the river, over the bridge from Puerto Madero and a bit down the road.  more »
