Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires

4.6
Relax and unwind at the vibrant waterfront of Puerto Madero. Admire the sleek, modern architecture, elegant bridge, and historical warehouses and cranes. Originally built to accommodate large cargo ships, the Victorian port fell into disrepair before undergoing restoration and revitalization as a leisure district in the 1990s. Step aboard a restored sailing ship, visit an art gallery, take a rowboat for a paddle in the harbor, or indulge in some retail therapy at the boutique shops. Dine and drink in trendy restaurants and bars, play at the floating casino, and stay the night in a luxury hotel. Puerto Madero is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our custom trip planner, Buenos Aires Edition.

Puerto Madero is where the port of Buenos Aires and where are the main restaurants, next to each other. It's really nice for pictures, has a park next door too. Recommend.

Beautiful neighborhood, quiet, one of the few neighborhoods safe of buenos aires, near everything but far from environmental pollution

We learned that the port was modernized recently. The initiative not only revitalized space as brought a great leisure option, and great food. Oh! Without forgetting that it is also space of Universidad Catolica. Be sure to go to the Madero Tango

Where to stay in Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires offers an impressive selection of budget-friendly and mid-range lodgings, as well as pricier, more luxurious options for visitors who don't mind splashing out. Good rooms are scattered across town, but your best bet for economical hostels remains San Telmo, a neighborhood on the edge of downtown. For boutique establishments and international five-star hotels, head to Palermo, Recoleta, or Puerto Madero, upscale neighborhoods drawing the majority of foreign visitors.
