Where to stay in Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires offers an impressive selection of budget-friendly and mid-range lodgings, as well as pricier, more luxurious options for visitors who don't mind splashing out. Good rooms are scattered across town, but your best bet for economical hostels remains San Telmo, a neighborhood on the edge of downtown. For boutique establishments and international five-star hotels, head to Palermo, Recoleta, or Puerto Madero, upscale neighborhoods drawing the majority of foreign visitors.

  • This small square is located on the Las Heras Avenue, behind the national library. It is rather small, elevated above the street level and has stone-paved paths, green areas and benches to sit and relax. On one of its walls there are panels with stories. Unfortunately just does not have areas with shade. In general it is not very crowded, so it is fairly quiet although the proximity with the Avenue sometimes makes it a bit noisy. It is very well and is very pleasant, as well as the surrounding area.

  • Divine placita, dependent of the library national, was renamed Rayuela in honor of our poet Julio Cortázar. Ideal to read at the library, but the building never liked (would be better there mansion that he had instead, demolished by the ignorance of many)

  • It is small, but very pleasant square. It belongs to the national library. Therefore it tends to have photo samples on their posters. This very well maintained. It is worth visiting it
