Plaza Francia, Buenos Aires

(4.5/5 based on 750+ reviews on the web)
In the hip Recoleta neighborhood, and at the end of Avenue Quintana, sits Plaza Francia, home to a long-standing artisan craft market. The market overtakes the landscaped park every weekend, while during the week locals use the park for leisure. Come to admire the views all around the square, watch various casual games and sports taking place, and see the notable church. If you’re here on a market day, take advantage of this shopping opportunity; you'll find items like pendants, leather goods, knitted wool products, and pins, all created with the particular artist’s personal flair. Plaza Francia is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our international travel planner, Buenos Aires Edition.

  • Not be called Plaza France, that is the of to the side! Weekend is fair (that has it all!) and there are always local artists. Near the cemetery, centro cultural, bars and cafes. For evening, ideal

  • The market located here at the weekends is interesting with a wide range of handmade goods available of variable quality and price. However on other days this is a plesant space with some shady spots
  • Nice green space across from the Museo National de Bellas Artes. There was a really large artisanal fair with many vendors selling their crafts. As you can imagine, many of the vendors are selling sim...  more »

  • A beautiful place you can't miss when you are walking on Recoleta or around the Museu Nacional de Belas Artes.
  • Awesome place to be out there, especially on summer weekends. The place is full of activities and so full of energy.
  • Nice place. Sometimes it is very noissy
  • Amazing fair. Good artisan work. Live music and puppet shows on weekends
