Museo River Plate, Buenos Aires

4.5
#10 of 96 in Museums in Buenos Aires
Get an inside look at one of the most popular soccer clubs in Argentina when you visit Museo River Plate. Located next to the team's home stadium, the museum walks you through the history of River Plate and all of their accomplishments. Note that a lack of interactive exhibits may make it less interesting for children. For an extra fee you can take a tour of the stadium and actually walk on the field and through the press boxes. A store attached to the museum sells shirts and other club merchandise. Put Museo River Plate into our Buenos Aires itinerary builder and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

Great place to learn about the history of the river club. He has lots of information and many unique objects of the club, as the shirt in commemoration of the tragedy of chapecoence. It has lot of audiovisual material.

The price paid for the visit is not worth to what is offered at the Museum. It's small, and very tiring.

They don't accept international debit or credit cards at the entrance, so make sure you have cash because there isn't any ATM there. The museum is quite small. Some interactive stuff was not working. The best bit is the stadium itself.

Where to stay in Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires offers an impressive selection of budget-friendly and mid-range lodgings, as well as pricier, more luxurious options for visitors who don't mind splashing out. Good rooms are scattered across town, but your best bet for economical hostels remains San Telmo, a neighborhood on the edge of downtown. For boutique establishments and international five-star hotels, head to Palermo, Recoleta, or Puerto Madero, upscale neighborhoods drawing the majority of foreign visitors.
