Mafalda Statue, Buenos Aires
(4.2/5 based on 2,400+ reviews on the web)
At first glance, you might not think there's much history behind Mafalda Statue, a model of an Argentinian cartoon character sitting on a park bench. However, the six-year-old girl--whose newspaper comic enjoyed massive popularity in Argentina between 1964 and 1973--represents the struggles of the country's middle class, explored through the eyes of a child. Her character, although troublesome in many ways, cared deeply about social issues, and wanted to make the world a better place. Today, you can take your picture with the charming statue, though you might have to wait more than half an hour in line. With our custom trip planner, Buenos Aires attractions like Mafalda Statue can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • The statue of Mafalda has relatively recently company Susanita and Manolito. It is a postcard that everyone wants to have. I recommend weekdays for the photo, on Sunday to be fair the queue to take the picture can be long.

  • Icono de la historieta Argentina.
  • Estatua de Mafalda y amigos. Es simpatica
  • A charming statue of one of Argentina's best known icons. There's a short queue to face in order to take a picture here, but it is well worth it! You can't miss her while you are at the Feira de San Telmo on Sundays.
  • Nice models of classic Mafalda characters. Allows people to sit down and take a picture with them. You do have to wait your turn since there is usually a line for a picture.
  • Uno de mis portales favoritos de Ingress Enlightened!
