Architectural Building Tourist Spot
At first glance, you might not think there's much history behind Mafalda Statue, a model of an Argentinian cartoon character sitting on a park bench. However, the six-year-old girl--whose newspaper comic enjoyed massive popularity in Argentina between 1964 and 1973--represents the struggles of the country's middle class, explored through the eyes of a child. Her character, although troublesome in many ways, cared deeply about social issues, and wanted to make the world a better place. Today, you can take your picture with the charming statue, though you might have to wait more than half an hour in line. With our custom trip planner, Buenos Aires attractions like Mafalda Statue can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • This statue is located in the San Telmo neighborhood. A very popular location for picture taken. Next to many restaurants and shops. Matilda is Argentina most popular female cartoon character.  more »
  • San Telmo is what really worth it there. Just spend hours walking around and get lost in this amazing quarter. Mafalda is an icon, but you will see this statue is smaller than you expected but is fun....  more »
  • San Telmo has a lot of other things to offer, this is just a useless representation of a famous cartoon character.  more »
