Jardin Japones, Buenos Aires

4.4
#1 of 69 in Parks in Buenos Aires
Geographically they're half a world away, but at Jardin Japones, Argentina and Japan come together. Built in 1967 thanks to a donation by the Japanese community of Buenos Aires, the gardens celebrate unity between the two countries, with Japanese and native plant life sharing space in well-manicured perfection. Check out the central lagoon, thriving with carp, and walk across the distinctly Eastern bridges during your stroll around the gardens. • Visted in March 2020 on a sunny day so it was lovely being in this garden with its shady trees and tranquil atmosphere. The large goldfish in the ponds are amazingly friendly - they practically pose....  more »

  • Great garden with a feel of Japan. Definitely a nice place to visit to spend some time walking around to see family and friends. It’s 200 pesos to enter, and worth it. If you’re complaining about the cost and what it’s for, you’ll understand what you’re paying for when you see what’s inside. The garden is very well kept up. There’s even a section inside that you can buy household plants that you wouldn’t be able to buy anywhere else. Lots of great photo opportunities here, and a lot of serenity. Very crowded on weekends so try to go during the week. Highly recommended place to visit.
  • This is such an amazing place to visit. The Japanese garden is a wonder to behold. The trees, the ponds, the fish, the history behind this place is incredible. It is the perfect place for a great day with family. Whether you are local or a foreigner, this is the place. There is also a museum where you will find pictures of the first immigrants who arrived in Argentina as well as some utensils they used back in the days. The admittance is paid, but it is worth it. Right towards the exit, there is a flower shop where you can buy flowers and trees.
  • 200 entrance fee and around 200 more for food inside. Walking trails around the park, with some cool stuff to see. An introduction to tea (?) happened while we were there, as well as a drum show. Overall, some nice and unique views, but many free things exist around the city that deliver the same experience. Maybe worth visiting once, don't expect to visit again.
  • Beautiful garden, very well taken care. I feel that it could have more seating area and overall more information about Japan. The entrance fee is fair 200 pesos; don't thing is worthy to stay hours in line to get in, plan to go in the mornings as is not as busy.
  • Any Japanese Garden is beautiful, but that is one of the most beautiful that I have ever seen in my life. It´s calm, peaceful, the air is just refreshing, you really feel like you have disconnected from all the rush that a big city like Buenos Aires have, and can finally become one with nature. And I didn't even mention the flowers, they are the true stars of the show! I really recommend you to visit this place!
