Get away from the heat and busy traffic with a walk among the blossoming vegetation of the Roman, French ,and Oriental gardens at Jardin Botanico. Opened in 1898, the garden features nearly 5,500 plant species, a number of sculptures, busts and monuments, as well as five greenhouses, including one designed in the Art Nouveau style for the 1889 Paris Exhibition. The most recent residents of the garden are stray cats, cared for by volunteers working for the local animal protection association. The garden, which was declared a national monument in 1996, also boasts a botanic library and a botanical museum. • The Jardín Botánico Carlos Thays is a pleasant stroll on a day that is not so hot. Located in the neighborhood of Palermo, in a green belt with a number of other attractions such as the Jardin Japones and the Rosedal, has free admission and is open from 8 to 18 hours. Can be accessed by the Plaza Italia subway station.

  • I went to mayo and I loved the place. Unfortunately I could not take the Guide because it crossed with my flight. It's like a mini forest. Very quiet and peaceful that you can read a book and leave a little of the noise of the city. I loved it :)
